Using a CBD dosage calculator is an effective way to measure the correct CBD dosage that you should be taking. Finding the right dosage of products is essential for many factors. While the compound is non-toxic and has no severe side effects, people rightly worry about how much they should take, as most products have several strength levels.

What people don’t know about CBD is that less is often more, and a low-concentration product can often be as effective, if not, more productive, than a high-concentration product.

On What is CBD Dosage Based?

CBD dosage is based on many factors, including:

  • Bodyweight
  • The medical condition you are treating
  • How much CBD is in the product
  • And any medication you are taking

Finding the right hemp dose is vital if people are trying to treat a particular ailment or symptom of another disease. While there are few risks with taking too much CBD, taking too little may not offer any relief.

Before using hemp extract products for medical purposes, people should first consult their doctor about taking the extract. If they are taking medications to treat that specific ailment, they should also ask a medical professional about possible adverse reactions.

Once you have approval from your doctor, your bodyweight becomes the best metric to use to determine the right dosage. Users can select their bodyweight with the counter above, which will then calculate the correct dosage for that user.

How Much CBD Is In A Single Dose?

Sublingual ingestion is by far the most popular way people take CBD. They use hemp oil and tinctures to absorb the compound via the sublingual gland. Oils often come with droppers that let users measure an accurate dose of the liquid.

The CBD oil will often state how much extract is the entire ten or 30ml bottle. They will often, but not always, say how much hemp is in one dropper-full, which is usually the recommended dosage. Some droppers have measurement marks, so users know the exact amount. But standard droppers have a maximum capacity of 1ml, which is another easy way to guess the correct dosage.

If the bottle does not state how much extract is in one, 1ml dose, there are ways to calculate it. A 30ml bottle, for example, with a strength of 500mg will have a CBD content of 16mg/1ml (500 / 30 = 16). According to the chart above, 16mg is a medium-sized dose for an average adult with a condition rated “medium”. Users can increase their dosage or lessen it depending on their needs.

How To Calculate the Dosage?

Calculating the correct dosage of hemp requires some calculations using two important figures:

  • CBD content
  • Serving size

Most companies publish their hemp content, as well as their serving size, so figuring out the dosage of servings higher or less than the recommended dosage is easy. Using the same example of a 30ml bottle with a stated hemp concentration of 500mg, we found that the content of each serving is 16mg.

But what if a user wants to increase or decrease the dosage?

How much CBD is in two or three drops?

One drop of liquid is equal to 0.05ml. To figure out how many drops in a single bottle:

30ml/0.05ml = 600

To figure out the CBD content of each drop, users need only take the number of drops and divide by the stated concentration of the extract:

600/500 = 1.2mg

Each drop contains 1.2mg of extract. From here, users can then calculate a dosage lower or higher than the recommended 1ml serving. If they want to take only 10mg of CBD, users should then take 12 drops of oil, and so on.

How Long Does CBD Stay in Your System?

The time your body takes to absorb hemp varies by many factors, such as:

  • The amount of CBD you are taking
  • The ingestion method

The fastest way to ingest CBD is by vaping oil and inhaling the aerosol. Inhaling CBD-tinged vapor sends the compound directly into the brain and bloodstream. How long the CBD stays in your system is also dependent on how you ingest it.

Vaping offers a faster absorption time, and while the effects take hold almost instantly, the duration of the effects is short, which is why people vape at different times throughout the day. The advantage of taking CBD either orally or sublingually is that as it takes longer to metabolize in your body. The duration of the effects is more prolonged, say between 1-4hrs.
